Graduation and Bible Reading
Graduation and Bible Reading
If you follow me on social media, you know my oldest is graduating from high school. It has been one of the busiest times that I can remember. If you are in this stage, I imagine you are also experiencing it. Bible reading has been slightly more sporadic than I’d like. I’ve done much more listening than sitting and reading or studying. Interestingly, my prayer life has grown exponentially. I have felt much more tired, so I get up slightly later. You’d think that would mean that I’m staying up later. No. I have been falling asleep by 9:00 pm!
Maybe I’m describing midlife, but I think it’s also the effects of busyness. I believe it is seasonal, and my general business-as-usual may return. Life will look different when June 1 rolls around, but I know that slowing down from the hustle of the last few months is indeed in my future. I can say this with confidence because graduation is right around the corner.
Do you find yourself in a season where you feel like you are being squeezed? Maybe you are burning the candle at both ends (is that the saying?). The good news is that the Good News is what carries us through. You can rest in the Lord and ask Him for help, wisdom, and grace to endure. My need for God never waned. Neither does yours. How we run to Him may just look different in different seasons. Wherever you are in your journey, God is with you!
