Start Again
As I prayed about what to write to you today, the phrase “better late than never” popped into my head. In reality, many of us stop reading our Bibles about this time each year. We have a goal, and then life happens, and the important disciplines get squeezed out for the urgent. Another reality is that our goals don’t bind us. We can start reading God’s Word whenever we want. So, if you’ve found yourself setting a goal and never starting or starting the goal and stopping, it’s okay to start again. Better late than never.
But I also thought of the phrase because my personal goal is to provide the “52 Weeks in the Word” posts on the first day of every month. I’d like to hope that I have a good excuse and you’ll be willing to overlook my lateness. A week ago, I had the honor of spending a week in New York to appear on Good Morning America. I won’t post personal information on this substack (please subscribe to my personal one—Where Faith and Life Collide, for updates like this one), but I really desired to share this with you, too! My Good Morning appearance featured another book I wrote called Celebrating Around the Table. You can watch the video at this link: GMA3
So, whatever your excuse, I’m here to encourage you that grace is available and that you can get back to it today. Do not be discouraged, embarrassed, or ashamed. My temptation was to be embarrassed that I missed my deadline and goal to update my site. Isn’t that silly? My desire is that we get in God’s Word and enjoy Him. It’s a worthy reminder, even if it’s four days later.
Better late than never.

You’re the First to Know!
This month has been filled with surprises! Today, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve created a resource for students (ages 8+) to get into the Word!
The 52 Weeks in the Word Student Edition takes you through the New Testament in 52 Weeks. You'll love this resource if you have a young person in your life.
It officially releases in May, but you can pre-order at the link below.
(Pssst…if you want to read the New Testament in a year, you can use it too!)
