#12 A Taste of Heaven
How to use the book:
It’s month twelve in our reading plan and wherever you are in your reading journey, it’s never too early or too late to encourage you about Heaven. The book of Revelation gives us beautiful reflections and prophecies about what we can look forward to. I won’t quote Scripture here, you can go check it out in the book later or during your reading time. Instead, I thought I’d share a short reflection I wrote on Heaven in my kids’ book Creative God, Colorful Us. I wrote:
When we die and go to be with Jesus, the Bible tells us that we will be perfect. Everyone who knows Jesus will never sin again! We will never get angry. We will never be mean. We will never show favoritism. And no one will be angry with us. No one will be mean to us. No one will leave us out. We will enjoy one another forever and always.
Can you imagine how wonderful it will be to be perfect? Can you imagine a place where there are no wars and fights? That’s the difference between heaven and earth.
We long for that day, don’t we? It’s coming! But for now, isn’t it a gift that we have the Word of God as our constant reminder of the Hope we have! Let’s continue to read it this year and in the years to come. One day every tear will be wiped away, we’ll experience everlasting joy, and we won’t have to read to know Him—we’ll be face to face. Until then, let’s keep reading and enjoying Him in His Word.
