#10 No Condemnation
How to use the book:
Can you believe it’s October? We have read through almost every page of the Old Testament. I was reminded of one of my first emails to you. I wrote:
“Wherever you are in your Bible reading journey, there’s a chance that you could at some point hit a wall. You feel you can’t go any further.”
Did you hit that wall? It’s tough to read straight through the Old Testament. As you now see, if you were unaware before, it takes the majority of the year to do so. If you’ve hit a wall and find it tough to read, I want to relieve you of any pressure. If you didn’t make it through one of the big books of the Bible (Jeremiah or Ezekiel), go back to them at the beginning of the year. Remember, the goal is to grow in our love for God and His Word, to know our God and His Word, and not to race through it.
As I’ve shared before, you don’t need to feel guilt or shame when Bible reading gets hard. We instead ask the Lord for the grace and strength to keep going and for Him to give us understanding. At the end of the first week of October, we will land in Matthew. Enjoy this month as we enter into the greatest joy and tender mercies of God: Jesus.
